Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.” Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. (James 4:13-14 WEB)

Welcome.  Thank you for visiting the Hartley Wintney Baptist Church website.  All services and other regular meetings are currently suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak.  We hope that you find all the information you need here, but if you have any further questions please get in touch with us [link to contact us page].

Although some churches have started to open for services we are unable to do so at the moment.  The main worship area is very poorly ventilated.  In the past this has been a bit uncomfortable in hot weather, but now such poor ventilation could increase the risk of spreading the virus.  We are currently arranging for the installation of a suitable ventilation system which will pump in fresh air as well as extracting stale air.  Because the building is listed, this is being delayed by the need to get the necessary consent.  The building can only reopen once this work is complete.  We do not expect this to be until early 2021.  We will let everyone know when we are able to start meeting again.

We want to express God's love during this difficult time - if you are self-isolating and think we might be able to help you in any way (even just by having someone to talk to on the phone) then please email us: contact@hwbaptist.org.uk.

We are a small but enthusiastic and friendly congregation which in normal circumstances meets every Sunday in the Baptist Church on the main road through Hartley Wintney.  Our services are fairly traditional in style and include both well-known hymns and modern worship songs.  The Bible is central to us as a church as we seek to serve our Lord Jesus Christ and further the work of his Kingdom in the local community and beyond.
